Becoming a Top Network Marketer

We have taken bits and pieces of some very aggressive, highly successful network marketers, and put this list together. The one thing we found was that most of their advice and teachings were very similar.
To become one of the top network marketers requires a change of thinking... in other words, you need to begin thinking like a top network marketer. You have two choices, to either figure it out yourself, or adapt and adopt the thinking patterns of our industry's great MLMers.

Below are a baker's dozen of PROVEN thinking patterns, when put into practice, will lead you to the top.

1) You have to know your "why"... and make it a BIG WHY... why you want to create success in your home business. This BIG WHY needs to become the catalyst, the force that drives you.

2) Set a couple personal goals that motivate you. These should be goals that you can specifically accomplish through your success in network marketing. You must write them down and review them often. When you combine your goals with your BIG WHY, this will help you through the obstacles you WILL encounter.

3) You must be willing to work... you MUST. The harder you work, the more "luck" you will stumble across. Make sure you are not only working hard, but working smart.

4) Become a person of ACTION. Whether new or veteran MLMer, you don't have to know everything to take action. Once you decide to work your home business, your ratio should be 90% action and 10% learning. Don't let anyone fool you or tell you different. Network marketing is all about action. If it was about learning, there would be a few million more networking millionaires in our industry. And, let me emphasize, if you want to have massive success, then you MUST be wiling to take massive action.

5) Remember this: your activity creates results, not positive thinking. Don't wait to "feel" positive or "feel" good about what you need to do. Do something every day to build you business. It takes consistent, daily, disciplined action to be successful. Also, understand this is a LONG TERM commitment. You do what you can do, considering time, budget, and other jobs or commitments you have. Don't rationalize, but have a plan for the long term.

6) You need to really like, enjoy, and believe in your product and opportunity. There simply is no way to have success in network marketing if you do not like, enjoy, believe and are excited about your opportunity and product. I'm not saying you need to become fanatical or wierd, but have a solid, genuine enthusiasm that comes from belief, not from a false front.
7) Treat your business like the business it is. If you treat it like some little gig that may product $200-$300 per month, then that is what it will do. If you treat it like the $10K or $50K per month business that it is capable of, then your results and success will begin to model your thinking.

8) Do not be afraid of failure. Period!

9) Operate from reality. New distributors and those just returning from their national convention have a belief that everyone will buy their product or sign up for their opportunity. This is being set up for disappointment and ultimately leading to drop out. Understand, most people will not join your opportunity or try your product. That is normal and alright. Network marketing is NOT for everyone. Don't try to talk people into the business or you will have to talk them into working the business.

10) No matter what your experience level, Be teachable! You are in school. I am amazed at how much the top networkers are continuing to improve themselves, learn from other top networkers, and grow and go.

11) This is one of the greatest... Keep your pipeline (lots of prospects going through different stages of being introduced to your business) filled at ALL TIMES. The key is to always be moving so fast you don't have time to dwell on failure or rejection because you are totally focused on some positive activity that is building your business. When you let your pipeline of prospects or customers run low, you operate from a position of lack. When you have a full pipeline, you operate from a position of abundance. Confidence comes with this position and when someone is not interested, it does not affect you. However, if you only have one prospect in your pipeline and they drop out, you are in trouble.

12) This is a tough one, but a MUST... The phone is your BEST friend. Master the phone and make a fortune. If you're afraid of the phone, you will never make any significant money in network marketing. Use the phone to follow up personally with all of your leads and customers. And 3-way call your hot prospects with your upline.

13) You can't build someone else's business for them. You are looking for people who wamt to do the business and are willing to do what it takes. Simple as that. Let me encourage you, don't buy leads, promotional materials, products, etc. for your downline. I'm not saying don't do coops, but don't make your downline your personal charity!
