Free Lead Scripts

You need a script for calling leads. Even if you don’t think you do, 90% of people need some sort of script to follow when calling through their leads or working to overcome objections.

Quick story – my first full-time career in sales was recruiting nurses to go back to school and upgrade their degree. My manager told me that sooner or later I was going to get confident and cocky, and not use the script he had given me when I would call to set appointments.

About 4 months into my sales career, I was having quite a bit of success. On the phone I began to wing-it, and do it my way. For the next 3 months my sales went down, down, down. My manager got me back on the script, and my sales went skyrocketing back up.

The bottom line… you need a script. Don’t let your pride keep you from success. A script keeps you focused, on track, and keeps you from wasting time. AND, it is essential for your new team members.

Here is a Free Script for calling your leads.

Hi (NAME) , how’s it going? This is (YOUR NAME) and I’m calling you back.

You requested some information about working from home. So, how can I help you?

(Let the prospect talk and take notes on what they are saying. You may need to ask a few probing questions to bring out what they are looking for – but don’t pitch them)

Do you have a pen and paper handy? To save us both time, I need to ask you a few questions to figure out what kind of information to direct you to.

Some questions to ask:

  • Are you currently working from home? (if yes – “what is it?”)
  • What do you do for a living? How long? What do you like about it? What do you dislike about it?
  • Are you thinking of replacing your current income or just supplementing it?
  • Do you have a family, spouse, kids?
  • Have you ever been self-employed or owned a home business before?
  • Now, what level of income are you looking to generate in the next 12 months?
  • Do you have capital set aside to start you business?

(NAME), our company has quite a standard for the people we are looking for. There will be a lot of work on our part in setting someone up in a home business successfully. So, we are looking for people who are absolutely serious about building a business and making money from home. So (NAME), how serious are you about starting a home business? Tell me why?

(Let them tell you why)

Great! Let me tell you a little about the company I work with. (give a 30-60 second overview. It is very important to be brief).

The name of our company is (Your Company). Have you heard of us?

(NAME), the person we are looking for has 3 main qualities: they are a team player, self-motivated, and dependable. Do you feel you have these qualities? Great!

Great, I want to share with you a website that is full of information. You’ll definitely want to take some notes on what you see.

The first site is www.yourwebpage.com (Have them repeat this)

(You can also send them to a conference call, sizzle call, or some way for them to do some homework on their own. They need to demonstrate their ability and willingness to investigate your company. Two things, such as a web site and a sizzle call can be effective because the prospect gets 2 exposures.)

Let me give you my phone number. It’s xxx-xxx-xxxx.

(NAME), we’re pre-screening a lot of people right now, and we’ll be making a decision real soon. The sooner you can get to the web site the better. Depending on what your response is to this information will determine whether or not we will be able to work together, and where you will fit into our team.

So, if you’re available tomorrow at (this same time), I will give you a call back and answer any questions you may have.

I will talk to you (TIME & DATE) .

One of the reasons I like this script is because it puts you in a position of authority and that you are the one doing the leading. You are not weak or willing to take weak people into your business. It’s very good.

So, whether you want to just stick with the free script (which is more than fine and a great start), or you need more ammunition in your gun in building your home business, don’t try and “wing it” like I did. Your sales and growth will suffer. Stick with a script that is specifically designed for MLM and network marketing.
